Today was Day 1 of Teen CERT! Teen CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a national training program designed for teens who would like to volunteer to help out during a local disaster.
Thirty students from all five high schools in Fremont gathered at Mission San Jose High School to start this 20-hour intensive course. They learned how to create emergency preparedness kits, communicate during a disaster, extinguish small fires, shut off water and gas lines, and use radios in an emergency.
– Day 2 of Teen CERT will be December 14. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates!
