Yusuf Rasheed


My name is Yusuf Rasheed, and I’m a senior at Mission San Jose High School. I became interested in emergency preparedness through my school’s Safety Committee and thus formed the YEPC to help prepare other students for upcoming natural disasters. I’m excited about the numerous programs YEPC has to offer this year, and I hope we create a long-lasting impact on our community!

Hi! My name is Sahil Singh, and I’m the Vice President of the Youth Emergency Preparedness Council. I am a 12th grader at Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, California. I helped form the YEPC because I believe that the community needs to be ready for when a disaster strikes which is why community awareness is our primary focus. Harsh Gurnani


Hi! I am Harsh Gurnani, and I am a junior at Mission San Jose High School. I have always loved the medical field, and I enjoy helping others. YEPC, through its emergency preparedness programs, has given me an opportunity to develop my skills in this field. My hobbies include playing soccer, playing guitar, programming, and traveling. I am the secretary of YEPC, and I hope to be able to give back to the community by helping others realize the importance of emergency preparedness.

Hi! My name is Charitha Gangi and I am a junior who attends American High School! Throughout my volunteering career, I have been able to work with many people and young children. Due to the society we live in today, I wish to have a safe and prosperous future for our current and future generations. I hope by working alongside these dedicated individuals, we can have a big impact. In addition to YEPC, I spend my free time partaking in our school’s marching band, playing soccer, dancing, or reading!

Hello! My name is Kimberly Horng and I’m a senior at American High School. Emergency preparedness really piqued my interest when I attended the San Diego Explorer Academy last summer. At that program, I was able to learn how to perform CPR, what to do in an active shooter situation and a lot more. I’m super excited for the next year and the events YEPC has in store for the students!

My name is Ishika Kolluru, and I am a junior at Irvington High School. I am passionate about helping out the community and my peers, especially in movements pertaining to mental health, and the protection of citizens. I am excited to learn and share my knowledge with the people around me on safety and emergency preparedness. This will help us build a strong society of well prepared and supportive individuals.

My name is Dominique Antillon. I am a junior at Kennedy High School. I am interested in emergency preparedness because of climate change and more dangerous natural disasters. I’m in 10th grade and I go to Mission San Jose High School. My interests include Boy Scouts, robotics, and debate. I wanted to join the YEPC to spread awareness about emergency preparedness especially as we are close to a fault line and are due for an earthquake.
